My latest Evanston RoundTable column went live Friday. Please read if you are interested in my take on the middle school experience!
The following note shows up at the bottom of my most recent column:
Simone Larson and the RoundTable hope to hear from this community. Is there a District 65 teacher who changed you or your child’s life? Are you a teacher who is doing something in your classroom that you’d like covered in this column? Please reach out!
My goal is to interview and feature District 65 educators who make or made a difference. Yes, they can absolutely be retired.
If you send me the first and last name of the teacher or social worker or speech path or para, a small anecdote, and why they were special to you or your child, I will take it from there.
My ERT column should be a platform to spread positivity and to focus on the people who keep District 65 running, day in and day out. Let’s block out the noise and celebrate the educators who return to work, despite all of the negative messaging and the predominantly top down and top heavy upper-administrative approach.
We, the educators, are the first line of defense. We have the biggest impact. Let’s not forget what matters.
Please, if you have someone you want featured, send me ideas.
